Cat lovers cross national boundaries, genders, and ethnicities because people all over the world can love cats no matter who they are or where they’re from. So it’s no surprise that archeologists have found proof that nomadic herders in ancient Kazakhstan loved their cats too.

Archeologists discovered a 1,000-year-old cat skeleton found along the Silk Road in Kazakhstan. They believe this cat was likely a pet cared for by nomadic herders since the cat skeleton suggested broken bones and missing teeth, meaning it would need human assistance to survive.

It should come as no surprise that ancient people would love cats. If they only had the Internet back then, they would probably have shared silly cat videos with their friends too.
