Angelina Kayyalaynen and her partner, Sergey Shlyakhtich, owned a miniature American Eskimo dog and wanted an “adventure cat and buddy for Athena,” their dog. That’s when Angelina found Rover at an adoption event at a local PetSmart.
Now Rover has become an Internet sensation after Angelina started sharing Instagram pictures of Rover wearing various costumes. Rover’s YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/c/RoverTheCat, has 142,000 subscribers, along with 143,000 followers on Instagram, 82,995 on Facebook and 545,000 on TikTok.
Rover’s rags to riches story could never have happened if Angelina hadn’t though of adopting a cat to share their lives together.
