Most people have heard the phrase “Curiosity killed the cat.” The basic lesson is that by being too curious, a cat (or anyone) can venture into areas that gets it hurt.

This saying appears to come from the belief that curiosity should be discouraged. Yet Mario Livio, writing a book about curiosity, says that curiosity is the best remedy for fear. By conquering the unknown, you relieve that fear.

So stay curious but keep an eye on your cat as well. Just don’t let curiosity get you too far off course.
