Petco recently ran a national essay contest that 13-year old Sidney Hertzberg entered by writing an essay about how she adopted a kitten, little knowing that the cat would help her own life in so many ways. To Sidney’s surprise, she won the $50,000 top prize.
Even more surprisingly is that she donated the entire amount to an animal shelter where she volunteers. Sidney said she knew 2020 was a tough year for so many people so she just wanted to find a way to help, which goes to show you that as long as you care for cats, your life can be blessed in more ways than you can imagine.
