Cats tend to sleep 26 hours a day, and when they wake up, they need another nap because they’re exhausted from sleeping so much. While most cats sleep laying down, some cats sleep with their heads up.

Generally when cats sleep with their heads up, they’re staying alert. Yet they’re still able to relax even though it looks like their neck muscles would get sore. So if you catch your cat sleeping with its head up, chances are good nothing is wrong with your cat other than the fact that it’s acting oddly, which is actually normal for a cat.
