Justin Verburg, the owner of Windmill Brewing, had a problem with mice. That’s when he decided to adopt Luther the cat, a white-and-striped cat, as the brewery’s official mouser.
However after Luther realized there were sunbeams and treats available in the taproom, the rescue cat decided to retire to the easy life— and stop chasing mice. “He kind of got the taste of hanging out with people in the taproom then his interest changed significantly,” Justin said.
Now Justin hires a pest control company to keep rodents away, but Luther still appears as the brewery’s cat as he relaxes with some beer.
