A train that can travel 125 mph was about to set off to Manchester when someone spotted a cat sitting on top of the train, perilously close to 25,000 volt overhead lines. Officials stopped the train and put passengers on an alternative train.
Two and a half hours later, rescuers finally retrieved the cat from the top of the train. How that cat got on top of a train remains a mystery, but cats are known for doing what they want whenever they want so this should surprise no one.
