Indoor cats are much safer because they’re protected from cars, dogs, and malicious humans. However cats may still want to go outside to explore and keep themselves amused. So what can you do when your indoor cat wants to go outside?
The safest way to take a cat outside is by putting a harness and leash on your cat. Then train your cat to get used to the harness and leash, and then gradually train your cat to get comfortable outdoors. Some cats never like the outdoors while others will gradually adapt and explore under your supervision. As long as you live in a safe area, you can start walking your cat around your home to give it added stimulation.
