Most people are afraid of dog bites because dogs can bite harder and have bigger mouths. Yet cat bites can be dangerous too, not so much for their teeth as far the bacteria in the cat’s mouth.

Most cats kept as pets have had their shots but wild cats do not. That means they could be carrying all kinds of diseases in their saliva. If a stray cat bites you, you could get anything from rabies to cat scratch fever. The key is to only pet friendly cats and then make sure you treat any cat bites as potentially serious so they don’t get infected.
