Many senior citizens adopt a cat to keep them company. Unfortunately, many times the senior pass away, leaving their cat behind. When Angela Rafuse’s grandfather passed away, she adopted his cat Mackenzie, otherwise known as “Ms. Murder.”

Angela knew Mackenzie’s temper would make her difficult to adopt, so she adopted the cat herself. That inspired her to start a non-profit for seniors called My Grandfather’s Cat, which works to help find homes for cats belonging to seniors or anyone with a terminal illness. That way people don’t have to worry about the future of their cats.
