Four years ago on August 9, 2017, the St. Louis Cardinals were trailing the Kansas City Royals, 5-4, in the sixth inning. Suddenly, a gray kitten scurried onto the playing field and caused a delay as he toddled toward the outfield wall.

A Cardinals field attendant eventually scooped up the cat and carried the tabby back to the grandstand and out of the ballpark. On the very next pitch of the game, the Cardinals batter mashed a grand slam to put the Redbirds on top, and the legend of Rally Cat was born.

The Rally Cat eventually found a home and stays away from the stadium. If you want to know more about what happened to the Rally Cat, click here.
