The stage musical “Cats” proved popular for years so it was no surprise that Hollywood wanted to turn it into a movie. Unfortunately, they turned it into the movie “Cats,” which bombed so badly at the box office that even Andrew Lloyd Weber hated it so much he got a dog.
Despite Andrew Lloyd Weber’s extreme reaction, Jennifer Hudson, who also appeared in the film version of “Cats,” actually liked the movie so much she got two cats and named them after characters in the story. If you watch the movie, you’ll most likely side with Andrew Lloyd Weber but perhaps instead of getting a dog, you can just let your cat watch the movie instead and get an expert opinion on how awful the movie really is.
