Pixar is creating an origin story about Buzz Lightyear. Basically the movie asks, “What type of movie would make a kid like Andy want to get a Buzz Lightyear toy in the movie ‘Toy Story’?” In this Buzz Lightyear origin story, Buzz Lightyear has a robot cat named Sox.
That’s because every great hero needs a cat. Hopefully this Buzz Lightyear origin story will meet Pixar’s usual high standards for storytelling. Of course, having a cat in the movie will likely help as well since everyone on the Internet seems to love cats whether they’re real or not.
