In the United States, there’s a Bill of Rights that lists all the rights people have (although those rights aren’t always honored all the time). Since the Bill of Rights provides a framework for how citizens should be treated, a California lawmaker now wants to introduce an animal Bill of Rights.

This animal Bill of Rights would give the pets multiple rights, including freedom from neglect and abuse, the right to healthcare, nutritious food and appropriate exercise, among others. If cats can get the same rights as humans, they can vote, own companies, and commit crimes while blaming their owners so they can get away scot-free, which is something cats do all the time anyway.
