Many people feed their cat dried food, which is convenient since you can leave bowls of dried cat food out all day for your cat to eat whenever it wants. Unfortunately, dry cat food doesn’t replicate the same texture and sensation as raw or freeze dried food.

So in addition or instead of dried cat food, consider raw or freeze dried cat food, which lets your cat sink its teeth into food that mimics the soft muscles of wild prey like mice or birds. Raw and freeze dried food may not be as convenient as dried food, but it’s closer to your cat’s natural diet so it might be healthier.
