Every animal needs to poop. When monitoring your cat’s health, you can often identify problems early by noticing how often (or infrequently) your cat defecates in the litter box (or on the floor).

In general, there’s no magic number for how often your cat should poop but if you don’t see poop anywhere in your house for long periods of time, that could be an early warning sign of health problems. Check for changes in your cat’s diet or bring your cat in for a check up. The sooner you catch health problems, the sooner you can treat possible problems and keep your cat healthy and happy.
