Any cat owner can tell you that trying to control a cat will be an exercise in frustration. In England, officials are finding that keeping a cat out of public places can be equally hopeless and frustrating.
In Suffolk, a black cat named Lupin regularly visits a nearby Aldi supermarket and hangs out for customers to enjoy. Being in a supermarket lets the cat socialize with people while staying warm at the same time.
Other cats enjoy visiting libraries and hospitals on a regular basis, walking through doors that humans open to let themselves in. Since it’s impossible to reason with a cat, the only option is to let the cat do what it wants, which is what every cat winds up doing anyway.
