When children and adults first learn to read, it can be a daunting and frightening experience. That’s why a local cat charity in England has started a program allowing visitors to read books to cats.

Not only does this give novice readers a chance to practice without the intimidation of being around another person, but reading books also helps calm the cats and gives them a chance to enjoy the company of humans.

So if you’re struggling to read (or learn any new skill), consider doing it around a cat or two. You might find it’s easier to learn around a cat than around other people.
