People love pets, but people are especially fanatical about loving cats. That’s why the Internet was invented to share pictures and videos of cats with other cat fanatics all over the world.
Dr. Patricia Pendry of Washington State University suggests that “The subtle and somewhat unpredictable responses cats give us, give us the perception that we are chosen – or perceived as ‘special’ when a response from a cat does occur.”
In other words, people love cats because they’re delusional. That works out just fine because cats know how to play off people’s trust and gullibility to make themselves seem more lovable than before.
