People who hate cats will find any reason and excuse to justify their beliefs (not unlike people who take strong political sides on any issue). So when Joseph Stromberg at Vox published an essay telling readers that cats are “selfish, unfeeling, environmentally harmful creatures,” people naturally took the side of the cats.
Stromberg claimed that cats don’t show affection, but that’s probably more likely because cats don’t show Stromberg any affection. That’s because cats can sense people who they don’t like while they can also sense people who they do like. So if Stromberg has never experienced any positive interactions with a cat, it’s because cats have collectively decides he’s a jerk and doesn’t deserve the affections of a kitty.
