The problem isn’t that there are so many cats in the world. The problem is that there aren’t enough homes for all the cats in the world. The end result are feral colonies of cats who have to fend for themselves in the streets.

Now researchers have developed a permanent birth control solution for cats. Instead of undergoing invasive surgery, this new birth control requires a single injection. If this procedure proves practical, this would allow officials to spay female cats quickly and easily, helping control the population of feral cats.

Of course a far better solution would be to get more people to adopt cats, but since cats keep breeding, birth control for cats is the next best alternative.
