For some odd reason, people are concerned about their pronouns. If you want to be referred to by a specific pronoun, let others know and most people will accommodate your request. So if you happen to be attending the University of Bristol, you’ll be happy to know that they now recognize cat gender.

According to the university’s own guidelines, ‘Catgender’ is described as “[feeling] an extremely strong connection to cats or other felines, either strongly identifying with them or simply wanting to incorporate them into their gender to better understand their identity”.

By this definition, most cat owners could identify as cats, especially after their cats have trained them to be the good human servants they’re supposed to be.
