When most people think about adopting a cat they often prefer kittens. At most animal shelters, kittens get adopted 82 percent of the time while older cats only get adopted around 60 percent of the time. So when one family were forced to give up their cat, Felix, they put him in a shelter specifically for older cats.

Years later when they were able to adopt and care for a cat again, they searched the shelters and discovered that Felix had been returned to the shelter by another family. That’s when they decided to they had to reunite with Felix once more and bring him back home where he belongs.

If you’re thinking about adopting a cat, consider an older cat. Every cat deserves a good home and older cats have an especially hard time finding one.
