Although they may 2-5 pounds and look fluffy and cute, the black-footed cat is a wild cat that should not be considered a domestic cat. The San Diego Zoo currently has black-footed cats for you to admire but people should be aware that these cats can be deadly hunters.

Black-footed cats catch 60% of the prey they hunt. Even though you can’t legally own a black-footed cat, you can admire them from afar and show your own cats what they can aspire to if they want to become deadly hunters too. Then again, most domestic house cats would be happy to sleep 25 hours a day and let you do all the hard work instead.
