Animals are often better than people because an animal will let you know how it feels about you in no uncertain terms. One cat owner owns an orange cat named Waffles, who loves being around the cat mom but hisses and scratches the cat dad.

Yet Waffles hangs around the cat dad. This just shows that cats can be finicky, but in general, if a cat flattens its ears, hisses, or runs away from you, it’s probably clear the cat doesn’t like you very much. You can often see this behavior when a cat hater shows up at your house and your cat instantly recognizes such a poor example of a human being.
