Scientists studied over 1,200 cats to determine why they scratch furniture. Their conclusion was that cats scratch more often and more intensely when living in a home with children. However, the study didn’t identify whether cats didn’t like younger or older children, or if the cats were in the home before children or afterwards.

In other words, a bunch of scientists appeared to get money to study something that has no definite conclusion that can help anyone in anyway. If you thought cats did nothing to earn their keep, then scientists studying cats are probably even worse.
