One way to keep your cats amused is to get a laser pointer and start pointing the laser all over the floor and walls. Then watch your cat try to pounce on a dot of light and then wonder why he or she can’t catch it.
It turns out that cats are color blind so they can’t even see the red dot that most laser pointers generate. Instead, cats see contrasts so they spot a moving image and try to pounce on it using their hunting skills. Watching cats go crazy chasing a laser pointer can be almost as fun as cats watching humans try to figure out why cats do what they do.
