With Russia’s recent attack on Ukraine, the world has largely turned against Russia. Russian athletes from soccer to the Paralympics have been banned from competition as a way to express displeasure with Russia, despite the athletes themselves being innocent of the war.
Now the latest casualty for the Russians is that Russian cats have been banned from cat competitions. While keeping a Russian cat from competing may seem like a trivial item, it’s just one more step for people to let Russia know that they do not approve or support the attack on Ukraine. Hopefully Russians and Ukrainians will be able to care for their cats until the war in Ukraine finally stops.
