Cats often get the reputation of being aloof and uncaring, but that’s not true. Cats can be very affectionate creatures. The trouble is that cats often enjoy sharing their affection with people who don’t like cats.
Apparently cats prefer being around people who let cats take the initiative. People who love cats often rush to a cat too soon and touch it all over, which makes a cat feel uncomfortable. On the other hand, people who don’t like cats tend to stay away from cats, which makes them more appealing to cats.
So if you want a cat to like you, pretend you don’t like it. Then it will be sure to come up to you and make you uncomfortable, which is what cats do best.
