Firefighters always seem to get all the great publicity when they rescue a cat from a tree or telephone pole, but police officers do their share of good deeds too. In Tennessee, a police officer spotted an injured cat on the road and stopped to help the poor feline out.

The cat had at least one broken leg (possibly two) but with the help of the police officer and animal control officials, the cat was rescued and should make a full recovery. This story alone should help warm people’s feelings that the police can and do help the unfortunate as part of their duties.
