Firefighters in Yonkers not only battle blazes, but they also rush inside burning buildings to save lives. While most people expect firefighters to save human lives, they’re also trained to save animal lives as well.

Yonkers firefighters found one cat in the burning building and brought it out to safety. The cat initially wasn’t breathing but after firefighters gave it air and water, the cat gradually gained consciousness and was ultimately saved.

So the next time you drive by a fire house, be thankful that so many dedicated firefighters are ready to save lives whatever kind they might be.
