There’s a new short-hair cat from Chengdu in the Sichuan Province of China. Dubbed Snoopy, this new cat already has 283,000 followers on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, and a further 197,000 on the photo sharing site Instagram. Several Facebook pages have been set up in his honor. Some people think this new cat is cute while others do not, so you can judge for yourself.
If Snoopy does represent a new cat breed, you have to wonder where are all these new species coming from? Perhaps one day in the future, cats will simply ascend to their rightful place as masters of the universe. Then if astronauts from our time come back to visit the Earth in the future, they may be shocked to find that cats control the world with humans as pets in a topsy-turvy world like “The Planet of the Apes.”
