If your cat goes outside, he or she probably hunts and kills rodents and birds. Unfortunately in England, cats are killing huge numbers of birds in British gardens, according to Sir David Attenborough, a TV naturalist and broadcaster who wants cat owners to buy bell collars for their pets to help stop the deaths.

“Cats kill an extraordinarily high number of birds in British gardens,” Attenborough said. While cats are just following their natural instinct just like bankers follow their natural instinct to embezzle money whenever they can, collar bells can help warn birds without stopping cats from hunting. If you like birds, perhaps you should consider getting a bell for your cat’s collar.
