Thirteen years ago a black cat nicknamed Depot wandered into a South Carolina Home Depot and decided to stay there. When the store managers finally decided to evict the cat, an immediate media backlash ensued and the store managers had to change their minds and let the cat stay.
Although the cat would greet shoppers, it did cause problems at night by triggering security alarms. Despite these problems, Depot will now get to stay at Home Depot. So if you happen to be near that particular store, drop by, pet the cat, and lend your support to allowing Depot to stay at Home Depot for as long as he or she wants.
