Everyone knows that the ancient Egyptians used to worship cats, which might explain why Egypt is no longer a world power. However, scientists recently discovered that ancient Egyptians buried cats dating back to 3600 B.C. and 3800 B.C., which is 2,000 years before the earliest known evidence of cat domestication in Egypt.

That means that Egyptians kept domestic cats far longer than previously thought. No word yet on whether archeologists have found any ancient litter boxes or cat toys in any Egyptian ruins, but there may still be hope.
