Most of the time you’d expect to find a baby kitten left on your porch, wailing for food and water, but one startled homeowner in Kettle Falls, Washington woke up one day to find a baby mountain lion abandoned on the front porch. The homeowner quickly called the states Fish and Wildlife officers who frantically searched for the mother, but to no avail.

Not wanting to leave the cub alone in the wild, the Fish and Wildlife officers took the cub in. Now the cub will find a new home at ZooAmerica, an AZA accredited zoo, in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The next time you find a stray kitten in your neighborhood, check to make sure it’s not really a stray mountain lion cub.
