Why a professional athlete would be afraid of a little kitten seems irrational, but then again, why people get wildly upset when their favorite sports team loses is also irrational, but nobody questions that. The fact is that some people have an irrational fear of cats, which gives cats power over those people. Of course, cats always have power over most people, but making people quiver with fear for no apparent reason seems to be something cats do best.
