Ten years ago the Wells Cathedral adopted Ginger Louis, even giving him his own basket to sit in. Now Ginger Louis is being challenged by a local cat called Pangur, who has taken to roaming the pews and sitting in front of the altar during services. Lindsay Mann, from the cathedral, said Louis was not “enormously impressed”.
Pangur is owned by Philippa Collings who lives near the cathedral. Despite having his own home, Pangur seems to prefer stealing Louis’ food to eating at home. Combined with taking Louis’ food, Pangur is now angling to be the cathedral’s cat. So far no cat fight has broken out yet, but given two cats in one building, you can expect that tempers and fur may fly soon.
