In 2000, Barbarella Buchner adopted a pair of kittens from a London animal shelter. Four years later, she broke up with a human companion and decided that her cats were actually her soul mates instead of an actual person. “They’re the loves of my life,” she said.
Buchner found a website that offers interspecies marriage certificates so for a small price, she “officially” married her two cats and they’ve been living happily ever after ever since. Or at least Buchner claims that since neither one of her cat husbands can talk. Then again, that’s no different than the way most wives treat their husbands by telling them what to do and making all the decisions while they have nothing to say, so perhaps this marriage isn’t so bizarre after all.
