A woman loaded up a U-Haul in South Carolina to move to California. At the California border, a Food & Agriculture inspector performed a routine check on the U-Haul trailer and heard a muffled ‘meow, meow, meow.’

The woman said she didn’t own a cat and that’s when the inspector discovered a dehydrated cat had stowed away inside the U-Haul. The inspector took the cat to a shelter to get water and food, and that’s when they scanned the cat for a microchip and found out the cat’s name is Kevin and lives in South Carolina.

The officials are making plans to send Kevin back to South Carolina so the story has a happy ending. If you think your cat can’t get out of your sight, think again and get your cat microchipped for its own safety.
