Most people expect dogs to rush out and save humans while cats are expected to yawn, roll over, and go to sleep even while their owners are getting attacked. Yet that’s not always the case, Tara the cat fought off a dog that had grabbed a 6-year old boy’s leg and started shaking it violently.
Tara rushed to the rescue, attacked the dog, and chased it away. “We were so impressed by Tara’s bravery and fast action that the selection committee decided that a cat this spectacular should be the National Hero Dog,” said Madeline Bernstein, president of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles.
The next time someone mocks you for owning a cat, just show them this video to prove that cats can be just as protective of their owners as a dog. Better yet, cats can keep themselves clean, which is something dogs haven’t yet proven they can do on their own.
