A French sailor, Manu Wattecamps, lost his rigging and his rudder in a storm. As his crippled sailboat drifted in the rough waters, a rescue ship pulled up along side. Manu tucked his cat inside his jacket and when his sailboat was at just the right height, he jumped and barely made it into the nearby rescue ship.
Although Manu lost his sailboat, he managed to save his cat. You can always replace a sailboat but you can never replace a cat, so Manu obviously made the wise decision to save his cat. Perhaps in the future Manu and his cat can sail on a new boat, but by saving his cat and himself, he’s given himself a new chance to sail another day.
