It’s common for cats to disappear for days on end. It’s also common for them to reappear magically as if nothing had happened. What’s not common is for a cat to disappear and reappear weeks later in a completely different country.
When Sammy Karlsson lost his nine-year-old cat called Glitter, from their home in Bromölla, southern Sweden, he thought he’d never see him again.
“He may be away for a week, but he always comes back. But this time I began to miss him more and more. I sat and watched for him on the deck, but he never showed up.”
1,700 kilometers away, Sammy got a call from the south of France where someone had identified Glitter from a microchip embedded in him. The big mystery is how Sammy left Sweden and wound up in France.
