Cat cafes are rapidly spreading across North America and now Chicago may be the home of the next cat cafe. The Tree House Humane Society plans to launch a combined coffee shop and cat adoption center in a $6 million facility set to open in the West Rogers Park neighborhood by early fall.

It will feature a full coffee bar and an adjacent cat lounge where a dozen or more felines will roam, sleep, play and ignore people sipping their lattes and caramel macchiatos. There will even be free coffeehouse Wi-Fi. If you happen to live in Chicago, visit the Tree House Humane Society and help support their cat cafe project.
