You may have heard of personality tests to determine what type of person you might be, but when was the last time you tested the personality of your cat? Researchers in Australia are now administering them, and they’ve found something interesting: Cats are not too different from us.

Of course, researchers couldn’t ask cats questions directly so they administered personality tests to about 2,800 domestic cats in Australia and New Zealand and asked their felines’ owners to rank their pets on a scale of 1 to 7 for each of 52 behaviors and traits, including “clumsy,” “reckless” and “vocal.”

The conclusion? Cats have personalities much like our own, which explains why so many humans are selfish, greedy, and self-centered, except when cats behave this way, they’re cute.
