Cats age faster than humans do although cats generally enjoy life longer than humans do. Because cats age faster, their lifespan is generally much shorter than the average human’s lifespan. So if you get a cat, chances are good you’re going to watch it age.

Such problems aren’t limited to just cats but you prepare yourself and your cat for a life of less mobility in their old age.
