if you’ve ever wondered why cats seem to like boxes, you’re not alone. The answer to that mysterious question has always eluded authorities until recently. That’s when researchers from the University of Utrecht  discovered why cats like boxes and published their findings in the journal Applied Animal Behaviour Science.

The study found that cats actually experience less stress when given a box than cats without a box. Apparently the box makes the cat feels safe, although if cats ever had to work eight hours in a cubicle like many humans do, they probably wouldn’t take so kindly to being trapped in a box all day long.
