if you’ve ever wondered why cats seem to like boxes, you’re not alone. The answer to that mysterious question has always eluded authorities until recently. That’s when¬†researchers from the University of Utrecht ¬†discovered why cats like boxes and published their findings in the journal Applied Animal Behaviour Science.

The study found that cats actually experience less stress when given a box than cats without a box. Apparently the box makes the cat feels safe, although if cats ever had to work eight hours in a cubicle like many humans do, they probably wouldn’t take so kindly to being trapped in a box all day long.
