Diseases are tricky to track and defeat. The latest problem is that the bird flu seems to have mutated to the point where it could infect a cat and then infect a human being as well.

Fortunately, the infected veterinarian’s illness was mild and short-lived. However, it does raise questions about the threat to humans from sick cats. If a cat can get you sick, then it’s possible for the flu to spread even faster than a litter of stray cats spreading out to stake out their turf in your neighborhood.
