The Rhino Orphanage in the Limpopo Province of South Africa recently rescued a four-month old rhinoceros who had lost its mother to poachers. The baby rhinoceros, named Nandi, has adjusted to its new surroundings after having surgery to repair damage to its intestines.

While Nandi has made friends with other rhinoceroses in the orphanage, Nandi is particularly attached to Mewie, a cat. Nandi and Mewie apparently spend time together despite their size differences. If a cat and a rhinoceros can get along, perhaps it’s time for human beings to learn from animals and start treating each other with kindness and respect as well.
