Guantánamo Bay is the home of an American military prison and naval base. What most people don’t realize is that Guantánamo Bay is also home to a large feral cat population. In the past, base commanders euthanized feral cats but now a new project hopes to rescue feral cats for adoption.

Called Operation Git-Meow, this project hopes to rescue the feral cats from the base and find them forever homes. Although the military can’t always afford to take care of feral cats on the base, hopefully kind-hearted people can help remove the cats and give them good homes to solve everyone’s problems.
